It has been and it is a bit tricky to say the least. Yet we are making progress and we might… just might be getting there. 

We are ready to have a “play” and “test” of or Crowdcast replacement. We try to make it is as easy as possible, but we had to overcome some challenges and as such, some sacrifices are made. 

What we build.

First off… your donations make this happen, your memberships make this happen. Together with some blood, sweat and tears… and a fair few swearwords…. 

 It might appear that we build things from scratch, this is not the case we use “open source” bits and bobs. It is like baking a cake, we try to find the right ingredients and then put it together in the kitchen.

That is the main site you log into, it controls the memberships, the shop and all the contents. 

Peertube. 

This is where it gets tricky, this is what we use for our YouTube replacement. It is a really nice bit of software, the problem we still have is that some functionality, although said it is there, is not there or not working. This causes some issues here in “Doc land”. 

As we find these unavailable documented features and the available “undocumented features”, we have to change our direction. That is the “game” we play behind the scenes. 

How does it work? 

At the moment… it hangs together with duct tape and old nails, but it works… well sort of… 

What we doing is to have ONE PAGE where you go for the live show. That page does not change, it will always be the same page. 

The page is called Live Stream and can be found here, we decided to do this so you can bookmark that page. When you get a message that a show will be on or some other events are about to be live-streamed… this is the page you go. 

Chat’s

To allow you to chat we opted to put the chat below the video screen, it is not part of the video screen. This means that if you go full screen you cannot see the chat, you can flip back and forth or open the chat on another screen, eg have two browser screen open, that might work.

We hope to fix something in the future for that, but for now, this is how it sits together.

Well now, when I asked about whether the $3.00 patrons would still receive such future benefit of this new platform, having already cancelled my Patreon Account, the answer given to me by Lee was YES! Since I already had attempted to sign up on the new website before cancelling my Patreon membership, I was not given any option to do so! There was absolutely no join/sign up no wheres on the webpages for that $3.00 level! So much for the already stated support that Lee had affirmed! AND, chances are pretty damned good that I will not even get an email either for the actual transition to the new server for any future updates nor confirmation of renewed membership! So, thank-you for not HONORING the $3.00 membership, thank-you very much!

      You would have received an email with a link to renew your membership. Could it be that it is in the spam folder?
      Re join or sign up, if you click on login.. you will be welcomed by a login page… which has written on it “Join Now”.. http://64.52.84.137/klw-entry/
      IF that does not work you can go to the home page http://64.52.84.137/ and scroll down about halfway. it has a section called JOIN UP and a button with JOIN NOW.
      That might not work either so you can decide to go and click on SHOP. When you do that you will see “KLW World News Steps to JOIN”. By clicking on that you will see this page. http://64.52.84.137/klw-world-news-steps-to-join/

      Should you successfully be able to renew your membership, then you will be able to see all posts and links to the live shows.

      Re emails… yes we do not send out many.. we did today for today’s show.. you should have received that. We have discussed the migration in several shows, and we might do it again tonight.. who knows.
